No Place to Call Home

This week we talked about homelessness. Homeless people need more than just shelter. Christ handled the outcast in the Bible with understanding and compassion, and so should we.

Key Verses

  • Matthew 8:2-3 2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
  • Proverbs 14:21  It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy.
  • Proverbs 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
  • Proverbs 29:7 The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.
  • Proverbs 31:9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
